At Guidon Studio, we are inspired by the transformative vision of Pharrell Williams, who advocates for the return of art competitions to the Olympics. His proposal, presented at a star-studded Louis Vuitton event in Paris, seeks to reintroduce the celebration of sculpture, architecture, and visual arts on the world’s biggest sports stage by 2028. This initiative highlights the rich legacy of artistic achievement that once graced the Olympic Games, and we are proud to align our values with this movement, emphasizing the importance of art in our cultural narrative.

The integration of arts in the Olympics began in 1912 in Stockholm, where medals were awarded for architecture, literature, music, painting, and sculpture. This tradition continued until 1948, when the International Olympic Committee discontinued the art competitions. Despite an unsuccessful attempt to revive them in 1952, the legacy of these artistic endeavors remains influential.

Pharrell’s recent event at the Louis Vuitton Foundation showcased how art can create immersive and transformative experiences. With a high-profile guest list including LeBron James, Steven Spielberg, and Serena Williams, and interactive installations by artists like KAWS and Daniel Arsham, the event resembled an “indoor carnival,” sparking imagination and creativity. The event supported Olympic hopefuls and the Refugee Olympic Team through generous donations.

At Guidon Studio, we are inspired by this fusion of art and community spirit, and we remain dedicated to pushing the boundaries of interior design, creating spaces that resonate with visionary creativity and a profound sense of purpose.

Warm regards,

The Guidon Studio Team
