Milan Design Week Highlights

Milan Design Week once again delivered an unforgettable experience, and Salone del Mobile 2025 was no exception—an immersive celebration of creativity, innovation, and craftsmanship that continues to inspire us at Guidon Studio. From historic villas to raw industrial spaces, the city itself became a canvas for bold artistic expressions and groundbreaking design concepts. Global icons like Gucci, Hermès, Flos, Range Rover, and Saint Laurent transformed Milan’s architecture into immersive exhibitions, reaffirming the city’s place as a global design capital.

One standout event was Prada Frames: In Transit, hosted at Milano Centrale’s Padiglione Reale and aboard a restored 1950s Arlecchino train. Curated by Formafantasma, the event explored critical topics like sustainability, digital networks, and infrastructure—emphasizing that design must function in harmony with both people and the planet.

Alcova brought a poetic contrast with exhibitions in five unconventional venues, including former greenhouses and an abandoned synthetic fiber factory. These raw, evocative spaces allowed design to engage with decay, history, and place—creating immersive installations that blurred the lines between architecture, art, and narrative.

Saint Laurent’s exhibition of never-before-seen Charlotte Perriand pieces was a highlight, showcasing timeless design through limited-edition recreations like the floating Banquette and Mille-Feuilles table. These works exemplified craftsmanship and restraint, offering a serene moment amid the week’s energy.

Milan Design Week reminded us that great design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about the ideas that shape how we live. As we reflect on the thoughtful, boundary-pushing works we experienced, we’re excited to carry this inspiration into our own projects at Guidon Studio—continuing to explore new materials, challenge conventions, and create timeless, meaningful spaces.
