Loewe Foundation Craft Prize 2025 At Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum
June 19, 2025

At Guidon Studio, we believe that the most inspiring interiors begin with meaningful stories. The LOEWE Foundation continues to enhance the global dialogue on contemporary craftsmanship with its 2025 Craft Prize, which is currently on display at the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum in Madrid until June 29. We had the privilege of attending the exhibition in person, and it served as a powerful reminder of how tradition, innovation, and material experimentation come together in today’s most compelling design work. Out of over 4,600 submissions from 133 regions, the 30 finalists showcase an extraordinary range of artistry and conceptual depth.
This year’s winner, Kunimasa Aoki, captivates with his piece “Realm of Living Things 19,” a clay sculpture that investigates how force shapes and transforms matter. Layered, cracked, and infused with ancestral energy, the artwork reflects a philosophy that we deeply value in interior design: how form, texture, and process can evoke emotion. At Guidon Studio, we view craft not merely as decoration, but as a design principle that grounds spaces in authenticity and provides a tactile narrative.
Whether experienced digitally or in person, the LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize offers a powerful reminder of how human touch and cultural memory shape design today. For those of us in the interior design field, it’s an invitation to embrace craft not only as an aesthetic choice but as a guiding ethos. This exhibition is more than just a showcase; it offers a curated glimpse into the future of form, where tradition and experimentation coexist harmoniously.
Warm Regards,
Guidon Studio
