At Guidon Studio, we believe that exceptional interior design tells a story, and few events capture that narrative power as vividly as the Met Gala. While the fashion world marvels at custom couture on the iconic steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, we turn our attention inward to celebrate the extraordinary interiors that transform the museum into a living canvas. Since 2007, renowned event designer Raúl Àvila has orchestrated the Met Gala’s breathtaking transformations, and this year’s event reached new heights of artistry and symbolism.

The theme for 2025, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” brought together historic tailoring influences and artistic expression. The interiors were inspired by Cy Gavin’s ethereal painting “Untitled (Sky).” Daffodils played a central role in Gavin’s vision, drawing on Greek mythology and the celestial beauty of night skies. The decor echoed this symbolism throughout the museum. Over 7,000 narcissus blooms were suspended in the Great Hall, rising from a central well and transforming into stars above, cascading into reflecting pools below. This immersive floral sculpture served as a metaphor for transformation and identity, creating a breathtaking fusion of art and atmosphere.

Even the arrivals carpet received a thoughtful makeover, departing from tradition to convey deeper meaning. It featured a deep midnight blue adorned with yellow flowers and lined with real daffodils, inviting guests into a space that was equal parts dreamscape and gallery. From the moody, theatrical lighting to the intricate storytelling in each floral arrangement, the Met Gala 2025 reaffirmed our belief at Guidon Studio: design is not just about space, but about emotion, culture, and connection.
