Reflections from the Warhol and Pollock exhibition and its dialogue with design
November 13, 2025
Walking through the “Warhol, Pollock, and Other American Spaces” exhibition at the National Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum feels like stepping into a conversation between chaos and order. Running from October 21st to January 25th, this exhibition showcases how two visionary artists—each unique in their style yet united in purpose—redefined our understanding of space. Through techniques like repetition, layering, and abstraction, they explored the unseen elements of art: emotion, depth, and the shifting boundaries between figure and background.
What we found most inspiring was their exploration of spatial tension. Pollock’s gestures extend beyond the canvas, while Warhol’s serial compositions condense meaning into rhythm and silence. Both artists used the surface as a reflection of identity and perception. In interior design, we navigate a similar landscape—balancing openness and intimacy, as well as simplicity and complexity. At Guidon Studio, we utilize lighting, texture, and proportion as our tools of expression, creating spaces that feel dynamic, layered, and deeply personal.
Visiting exhibitions like this reminds us why we design: to explore the human experience through space. Art encourages us to slow down, observe, and find harmony within contrasts. In our work, we carry this same curiosity forward—creating interiors that, much like great works of art, hold stories beneath their surface and reveal something new with every glance.
Warm Regards,
