At Guidon Studio, we’re excited to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the iconic DISA lamp, designed by the renowned Spanish architect José Antonio Coderch. Initially introduced in 1954, the DISA lamp has become a symbol of timeless design, admired by figures like Pablo Picasso for its ability to evoke emotion and create a warm, intimate ambiance. Its clean lines, noble materials, and careful craftsmanship have made it a classic in modern lighting.

To honor this milestone, TUNDS and MINIM hosted a special event showcasing the DISA’s journey, featuring original prototypes, sketches, and a re-edition of the lamp. TUNDS has reintroduced the first version of the DISA in a limited edition of 70 numbered units, staying true to Coderch’s vision while enhancing the lamp’s design with modern materials. This re-edition celebrates the lamp’s innovative flat-pack assembly and the ambient light it creates, which remains as enchanting today as it was in the 1950s.

The 70th anniversary of the DISA is more than just a celebration of a product; it’s a tribute to Coderch’s enduring legacy and his commitment to honest, thoughtful design. The DISA lamp continues to inspire new generations, standing as a testament to the timeless principles of balance, beauty, and simplicity that define truly great design.

As we commemorate the 70th anniversary of the DISA, we are reminded that true design transcends time. It is not just about aesthetics or functionality; it is about the emotions it evokes, the stories it tells, and the authenticity it brings into our lives.

Thank you for being a part of our design journey. We look forward to continuing to share stories that inspire and connect us all.

Warm regards,

The Guidon Studio Team
