At Guidon Studio, we are excited to present an extraordinary tribute to lighting design: “A Certain Slant of Light,” the latest exhibition by Roman and Williams Guild remarkable showcase, set in a historic Tribeca space, features over 100 lighting designs from the studio’s 22-year history. Designers Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch, renowned for their masterful atmospheric creations, have transformed a 30-foot-tall venue into a celestial light display. Inspired by Emily Dickinson’s poetic reflections on light and changing seasons, the exhibition invites visitors to experience the profound emotional impact of thoughtfully crafted illumination during the darker months.

The exhibition reveals 12 new designs, each showcasing Roman and Williams Guild’ commitment to artistry and craftsmanship. Highlights include the Axil Pendant, which features concentric glass diffusers wrapped in an elegant brass shade, and the Dahlia Table Lamp, adorned with an alabaster floral shade that exudes understated elegance. Crafted by artisans from around the globe—from Brooklyn glassblowers to French foundries specializing in warm-toned brass—each piece tells a story of tradition, innovation, and meticulous attention to detail. These designs create an immersive experience, resembling a constellation within the space’s vast interior and emphasizing the spiritual connection between light and the seasons.

Running until December 1, 2024, at 6 Harrison Street, this exhibit is a must-see for design enthusiasts and curious minds alike.
