Welcome to Guidon Studio’s latest edition, where we bring you stories of artistry, innovation, and design that inspire. This week, we are excited to spotlight Morii Design, a textile studio that has transformed wall art by beautifully blending traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics. Founded by the visionary Brinda Dudhat, Morii Design originally started as a garment brand, offering hand-embroidered jackets that showcased exceptional craftsmanship. A pivotal moment occurred when one of Brinda’s embroidered panels was framed as an experiment, capturing the attention of a prominent architect in Mumbai. What began as a simple experiment quickly became a defining approach for Morii Design, generating significant demand within the architecture community and establishing Morii as a leading name in textile wall art.

At the heart of Morii Design’s work is a commitment to heritage and sustainability. Brinda has partnered with skilled women artisans from rural communities, including the Rabari tribe in Kutch, who bring generations of embroidery expertise to each piece. “Our process begins with a vision,” Brinda shares, explaining how each creation is collaborative. She sets the colors and composition, working closely with artisans who are valued partners in the artistic process. This dynamic allows Morii to preserve traditional techniques while creating designs that appeal to contemporary tastes. Through these collaborations, Morii Design honors the intricate artistry of traditional textiles while empowering rural artisans and celebrating their heritage.

Morii Design’s commitment to sustainability is woven seamlessly into its artistic mission. Through its Zero Waste Initiative, every scrap of fabric finds a purpose, whether incorporated into upcycled art pieces or repurposed for cushions and accessories. The name “Morii,” inspired by the Japanese word for forest, perfectly captures Brinda’s vision: her work reflects the richness and diversity of nature. At Guidon Studio, we’re honored to celebrate artists like Brinda, who blend heritage with innovation to create meaningful art that connects us to cultural traditions. We’re always tuned into global trends, especially in art and design, to share inspiring stories that redefine creativity.

Warm Regards,
